Motivation

Mapbox Studio is a web-based map design tool and our customers had been asking for better organization for their maps styles for years. This wasn’t a flashy project, but it was critical and valuable to our customers to meet their expectations of an enterprise-grade tool.

Solution

We introduced folders for styles, along with improvements to the file-management experience and a clearer file resource model. Through research, we learned that different teams approached collaboration and organization in different ways and folders gave them the flexibility to mirror their real-world processes.
